Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 or MW2 to fans is a FPS for PS3, Xbox360 and PC, which was released on 10th November 2009.
Please be warned there may be spoilers below.
The game sees you play as a range of different soldiers through the game in a variety of locations across 18 levels. There is also a reunion of sorts with an old ally.
Aswell as a shortish Single Player Campaign, the game also includes the standard 8vs8 Multiplayer modes that you would expect and also a set of Spec Ops missions which can be played solo, or cooperatively split screen on 1 machine or online.
Each Spec Ops mission has 3 levels of “completion” and completing each awards a star, stars are then used to unlock new levels of Spec Ops and also Trophies/Achievements.
Single Player Campaign
- S.S.D.D. - US Army training in Afghanistan.
- Team Player - Repel the attackers back, and then hunt down and kill any remaining opposition.
- Cliffhanger - Infiltrate a Russian base under the cover of a blizzard.
- No Russian - Join a Russian mercenary in an assault of a Russian airport.
- Takedown - Pursue an arms dealer through a Favela in Rio de Janiero.
- Wolverines! - Secure project “Raptor” in Virginia, USA.
- The Hornet's Nest - The Favela turns hostile leading to a rushed escape.
- Exodus - Evacuate the civilians of Virginia, USA and then locate a HVI.
- The Only Easy Day...Was Yesterday - Seize control of an Oil Rig in the East Russian sea.
- The Gulag - Lead an assault on a Gulag and locate prisoner 627.
- Of Their Own Accord - Seize the Washington Monument and surrounding area from invading Russian forces.
- Contingency - A race against time through hordes of Russian troops in Siberia to board a Russian sub.
- Second Sun - Fight your way to the Whiskey Hotel.
- Whiskey Hotel - Eliminate and resistance in the Whiskey Hotel.
- Loose Ends - Infiltrate Makarov's hideout on the Georgian - Russian border.
- The Enemy Of My Enemy - Escape the plane graveyard whilst a firefight ensues between rival sides.
- Just Like Old Times - Penetrate the Afghan caves and flush out any Shadow Company remnants.
- Endgame - Pursue and kill the games main antagonist.
Spec Ops
There are 23 Spec Ops missions over 5 categories which increase in difficulty. Each mission has 3 stars assigned to it depending on various factors ie difficulty, length of time taken etc of each mission making a total of 69 attainable stars. All missions can be played with 2 players but some require 2 players to complete therefore requiring a friend either on the same machine or online.
