Have A Go Heroes is a clan mainly for Playstation 3 console. Currently we are are active on several different games, like Resistance 2, KillZone 2 and more.
If you are interested in joining Have A Go Heroes, you should note our procedures for joining are a bit unorthodox, but are set in place to ensure to keep the original HAH spirit and foul sense of humor. We are always open to new recruits, as long as they fit our requirements.
The first step is to register using main website, and confirm your email address. After that, it is important that you make a introductory topic in our forum within 1 week of registration. After that you are on a 1 month probation, during which we require that you make at least 30 posts in our forum. This procedures have been put in place to keep the integrity of our community, and making sure new members are dedicated about joining and will fit right in among our sorry collection of outcasts.
In the initial days of our existance, we aimed to be a competetive clan in Warhawk, but after we got a thourough beating through GameBattles most of these feelings disappeared. Slowly our focus shifted to be a more social clan, where members played games together with the focus on having fun and making fun of each other. As time went by, we kept on including several games in the clan, the first outside Warhawk was GTA IV, and after that the number of games increased rapidly. Currently we have 6 games included, and meet up in several other games which have online features.
As we got more games included, our first forum from Proboards got a bit disorganized and insufficient for our needs. We started to investigate several options on where to move the site, but the initial ideas was met by some resistance, and to be honest was not optimal for our needs. The problem was that we had a strong online community on our forum, and we wanted to keep the original spirit and community when we moved to a new site. This is when a sharp mind in our ranks had the brilliant idea of building our own custom solution using existing open source software. The end decision was to use Joomla! and phpBB3, and the end result was a more user oriented website, where all our members continue to contribute and build the website.
Soon this solution grew complex and hard to maintain. It was then decided to move to a much simpler solution using only phpBB3, with a few mods, and some custom additions. The site got relaunched in April 2010 with the current layout.
And in this ever changing world, we feel the need to evolve to adapt to the changes. We always encourage collaboration in all methods possible, but by helping each other in a particular game, and exchanging knowledge end experience we might have with each other. With this intent, we are currently experimenting with a private Wiki for HAH members, where they can share their experience with each other, give out pointers and express them self freely, so we all can benefit from the gaming experiences of all members.
